Overview

The Sugarcane Growers Association of Malawi (SUGAM), is the apex, national body for smallholder sugarcane growers who grow sugarcane for industrial purposes. The association was established in 2014. In May 2018, the organization was registered with the government of Malawi under the Trustees Incorporation Act.

SUGAM is seeking the services of qualified candidates for the following post:

ACCOUNTANT

JOB SUMMARY 

  • Preparation of Monthly and Management Accounts/ Reports;
  • Processing payments and liquidations according to the established policies, procedures and budgets;
  • Preparing cash and bank reconciliations; Providing information to external auditors and responding to queries thereof;
  • Initiating review of accounting systems, policies, practices and procedures;
  • Participate in the preparation of annual plans and budgets;
  • Monitor expenditures and avoid over runs and deviations from approved budgets;
  • Maintain an Asset Register and Undertake any duties delegated by the Executive Secretary.

Only applicants with at least a Malawi Government recognized Diploma in Accounting/ Accountancy / Business Administration, a minimum of 3 years’ experience, knowledge of the public finance management act and with high levels of integrity and honesty can apply.
