The Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) is a University formed by merging the College of Medicine and Kamuzu College of Nursing, which were constituent colleges of the University of Malawi.

It was established by an Act of Parliament (No. 20 of 2019). It is a comprehensive health and allied sciences higher education institution established with the primary function of training health workers under one roof to promote inter-profession collaboration, team building and teamwork from the early days of training.

The University is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant positions:

ASSISTANT SECURITY LIAISON OFFICER (1 post tenable in Blantyre).


To assist in the management, coordination and monitoring of security matters in all University premises.


The post holder will be expected to carry out the following key duties and responsibilities;

  • Patrol campus grounds to ensure all security posts are staffed by appropriate security personnel as provided for in the security contract
  • Identify security risks and report the same to appropriate offices or take necessary action
  • Ensure buildings, unoccupied rooms, external doors, car parks and security systems are safe and secured
  • Maintain contacts and other details of security personnel and their Supervisors
  • Provide advice to staff and students on security and safety issues
  • Investigate all security incidences in coordination with the service provider and Police, where necessary.
  • Prepare weekly reports on the attendance of security personnel
  • Enforce University security regulations by ensuring that the service provider has complete information of the same
  • Undertake other general duties related to the safety and security of staff, students and visitors.


  • Diploma in security studies
  • Five years of experience in a public security institution or reputable security entity
  • Knowledge of current security trends and systems
  • Knowledge of security laws
  • Clean employment and criminal record.
