The ideal candidate must be a visionary, innovative and strong leader capable of managing and directing overall operations of the institution.

They must be a big picture type of individual who must completely understand the corporate plan and be able to set functional goals, communicate the same to department heads and initiate tools to measure the success of each department. This is a very important position must be conversant with designing innovative real estate products and services. The Business Manager must be conversant with designing innovative real estate products and services.

Roles and Responsibilities include the following:

  1. Corporate strategic planning and implementation
  • Lead in design and implementation of corporate strategies for the institution;
  • Provide useful suggestions to the management on how to improve on the company’s operations in all departments
  • Develop and enforce sound policies and procedures for the departments and operational activities
  • Collaborate with heads of departments in creating and implementing long term business plans to ensure continuity and sustainability of business operations
  • Review and determine skills gaps and staffing requirements and ensure the company has adequate staff.
  • Lead management in sourcing and developing business core capital.
  1. Operational Activities
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure a free flow process and execution of daily tasks
  • Oversee performance of core activities ensuring that procedures and policies are followed:
  • Coach, mentor and supervise core business personnel and ensure that they are adequately trained and operate at a high standard of timelines and professional competency
  • Ensure effectiveness and efficiency in all departments, team development, team morale and implementation of finance code of conduct at the various levels in operations;
  • Plan and manage utilization of company resources in liaison with heads of departments;
  • Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties of all departments
  • Develop new and/ or update existing operations manuals for various departments.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management
  • Compile company reports as required by regulatory authorities
  • Develop financial back up plans to protect business operations in the event of major crises that could result in huge losses;
  • Review effectiveness of operational procedures for all departments and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure that the company is always in compliant with the laws of Malawi.


  • The ideal candidate must have minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
  • They must have managerial experience in the real estate and construction industry
  • Capabilities to analyze the market and strategize company expansion
  • Strong managerial leadership.
