The Education Department of the CCAP Nkhoma Synod is mandated to ensure the best quality of education in all Nkhoma Synod institutions of learning in Malawi. In a bid to provide quality institutions of learning, the department invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant posts:

Title: Education Secretary
Reporting to: Deputy General Secretary of CCAP Nkhoma Synod
Salary: Negotiable
Duty Station: Nkhoma Synod Secretariate.
Duties
- Provide overall operational, strategic oversight and leadership and to coordinate the management of all intuitions of learning under the synod;
- Directing the programming, delivery/ implementation and monitoring education programs and initiatives for all education institutions to ensure high performance of students;
- Initiate the development and implementation of the department’s strategic plan and other guiding policies, protocols and guidelines;
- Development of departments expansion blue print for pre-, primary and.secondary schools and direct and coordinate its implementation;
- Preparation and implementation of the department’s budget and ensuring
prudent financial management of department’s resources; - Develop and spearhead resource mobilizationinitiatives for the department;
- Manage the recruitment and retention of qualified and dedicated teaching
and support staff; - Management of department’s infrastructure and property;
- Ensuring that the department meets all its statutory obligations in the course of executing its mandate; and
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the Deputy General Secretary.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Education Degree plus a Masters Degree in Education or Management from a recognized institution;
- At least ten (10) years’ post qualification experience in similar high management level preferably in education management;
- Self-starter, business/results oriented, resourceful and innovative;
- Strong leadership skills with ability to lead and motivate a team of professionals;
- Team players with ability to relate and communicate with staff/students at
different levels; - Must have ability to cope with situations that demand a high sense of sound judgment and must be flexible in accepting work assignments outside normal desk description.
- Must have good communication and negotiating skills and must be fluent in English and Chichewa.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be a committed Christian.
