Chemonics International Inc, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, seeks the following long-term positions for the USAID Next Generation Early Grade Reading Activity (NextGen) in Malawi.

The $75 million activity aims to solidify and build on the contributions made to date as part of the implementation of Malawi’s National Reading Program (NRP) towards improving the delivery of high-quality early primary reading instruction in all Malawian primary schools.

We are currently seeking qualified professionals for the following posts to be based out of Lilongwe, Malawi, unless otherwise noted.


IT Manager, who will be responsible for ensuring that NextGen has a stable, secure and robust network intrastructure.

This includes managing deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCS, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.

S/he will review all IT department-related documentation/certificates, maintenance agreements and service contracts, and follow up with contractor on technical compliance. Additionally, S/he will assist in the configuration of new and used hardware and installation of software, systems upgrades, and provide both first and second level support, responding to problems, implementing planned changes, and managing projects.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in T or related sciences required
  • At least 5 years of network administration and IT related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows XP, Windows 7-10 required
  • Strong knowledge of wireless and wired LAN technologies protocols, programming, and network security
  • Ability to take initiative and work in teams
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Written and spoken proficiency in English required.
