POSITION: OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

Chemonics International Inc, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, seeks the following long-term positions for the USAID Next Generation Early Grade Reading Activity (NextGen) in Malawi.

The $75 million activity aims to solidify and build on the contributions made to date as part of the implementation of Malawi’s National Reading Program (NRP) towards improving the delivery of high-quality early primary reading instruction in all Malawian primary schools.

We are currently seeking qualified professionals for the following posts to be based out of Lilongwe, Malawi, unless otherwise noted.

OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

Operations Assistant, who will provide administrative, financial, logistical and operational support.

The Operations Assistant will work closely with all operations team members to ensure that the NextGen office runs smoothly. S/he will provide efficient and consistent support in areas such as meeting scheduling, management of project inventory, coordinating logistical needs for events, and other ad hoc requests.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience providing administrative support, program logistic or operations preferably to a USAID funded project/s or NGO
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks, focus on details, and work independently or on a team
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Written and spoken proficiency in English required.
