Overview

Public Service Pension Trust Fund is an Institution which was established in compliance with Pension Act (CAP 55:02) to oversee the administration of the Public Service Contributory Pension Scheme.

The Fund is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians to fill the following positions that exist at Secretariat Office on an annual contracts renewable.

POST: PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER

GRADE: PTF4

REPORTING TO:  PRINCIPAL OFFICER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide public relations services.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants must be in possession of Bachelor’s Degree in either Journalism, Business Administration, Public Relations, Mass Communication or Marketing obtained from accredited Institution, plus a minimum of 3 years working experience in busy environment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain a positive corporate image of the Fund and promote stakeholders’ interests.
  • Organise and coordinate corporate events such as road shows, civic education campaigns, donations etc.
  • Develop and maintain a good rapport with the media by answering their queries, give media updates and press release
  • Participate in the development aRd producton of coporate publication including Annual Reports
  • Manage the website in liaison with ICT section
  • Generate articles for the media, general public and other stakeholders for awareness purposes
  • Serve as mouthpiece for the Fund
  • Carry out staff sensitization on various matters using internal
  • Communication channels such as newsletters
  • Provide accurate and up to date information to stakeholders and members of the public
  • Conduct corporate image audits and customer surveys.

COMPETENCIES AND APTITUDES

The post holder should have good writing skills, good analytical skills, multi-tasking skills, strong communication and inter-personal skills, should be a quick learner, self-starter proactive, willingness to stretch and work under pressure, as and when required to do so.
