POSITION: RESIDENT AUNTS – NGABU PROGRAMME

SOS Children’s Villages Malawi is a non-governmental child development organization which started its operations in Malawi in 1994.

We envision every child belonging to a family and growing with love, respect and security. We achieve this through building families for children in need, help them shape their own futures and share in the development of their communities.

RESIDENT AUNTS – NGABU PROGRAMME

The SOS Aunt assists the SOS Mother to provide the best possible upbringing for the children under their care. The SOS Aunt is an important member of the SOS families, and should be caring, understanding, mature and responsible figure, who the children can see as their model.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Supports the SOS Mother to create a loving, secure home for the SOS children
  • Assists the SOS Mother in ensuring the well-being of children through parenting
  • Guiding children to take responsibility
  • Takes charge of the house in the absence of the SOS mother
  • Interacting with and contributing to the community
  • Performing household tasks
  • Career guidance.

The suitable candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • MSCE
  • Early Childhood Development Certificate
  • 3 years’ experience in childcare.
