In an effort to continue reducing the burden of Malaria in this country, the Malawi Government (Ministry of Health) and World Vision International are planning to support implementation of Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) Campaign in Nkhata Bay, Balaka and Mangochi Districts in 2022 through 35 operational sites.

The IRS will be carried out with funding from Global Fund. The campaigns will be conducted over the course of 36 working days, beginning on or about Mid October, 2022. The IRS targets to cover 546,833 eligible structures and, protecting an estimated 1,926,276 people.

It is for this reason that World Vision is seeking to fill various Temporary Staff Positions for the IRS implementation in Mangochi, Balaka and Nkhata-bay District.

These positions will be based at various operational sites in the District.


116 Positions at various rural locations in Nkhatabay, Balaka & Mangochi Districts

Allowance scale; MK10,000 – K13,000/day.


  • Provide hands-on leadership and management of daily spray activities in the allocated spray villages by the Site Manager;
  • Responsible for overseeing all daily administrative operations for the operations site, including allocation of team leaders to spray operators;
  • Responsible for managing project spray village deliverables including planning and coordination of all IRS activities in collaboration with Site Manager;
  • Responsible for safety, care, and proper usage of the spray pumps, insecticides, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) during spray period by spray operators and team leaders;
  • Reconcile daily attendance and work schedule sheet completed by spray operators and team leaders before submitting them to Site Manager for verification;
  • Provide oversight on personal protective equipment (PPE) and inventory control at the operations site;
  • Collaborate with Site Manager in facilitating training programs for IRS spray operators, team leaders, pump technicians, washers and security guards at operations site level.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor/superior.


  • Diploma in Public Health or Environmental Health from accredited institution.


  • 2 years of experience in a related field; Experience of working with the Ministry of Health, or any Health Institution is an added advantage.


  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and willingness to learn
  • Self-starter
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, power point and email
  • Strong in report writing
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Candidates with prior IRS training and experience will have an added advantage.
