Overview

An opportunity has risen at MASM Medi Clinics Ltd which is one of the leading health care services providers in Malawi with leading medical clinics in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Zomba, and Mzuzu. The Clinics serve both medically insured and non-insured patients and dients. To strengthen its technical capacity the Company invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced and self-motivated indivicuals to join its Finance Team as Accountant.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Accountant and should have a strong bias towards managing accounting functions.

ACCOUNTANT

Job Purpose
Responsible for managing accounting functions in all clinics and head office in a manner that ensures credibility and reliability of financial reporting and drive value for money.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure that billing is done timely, accurately and completely.
  2. Ensure that transactions are post to the correct ledgers.
  3. Manage receivables to ensure payments are done within agreed terms.
  4. Ensure that adequate internal controls are put in place in the management of receipts.
  5. Ensure that there are adequate internal controls in the management of financial transactions.
  6. Prepare reconciliations accurately and timely.
  7. Prepare budgets and monitor implementation.
  8. Prepare financial reports according to company policy, statutory requirements, and International Financial Reporting Standards.
  9. Manage liquidity and ensure that the financial status of the company is sound.
  10. Assist in developing and implementing pricing strategies.
  11. Coordinate audit process successfully.
  12. Adhere to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  13. Supervise subordinates effectively.

Educational Qualifications, Essential Knowledge and Competencies

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Accountancy from a recognized and reputable institution.
  • Studying towards professional level of ACCA orย ICAM.
  • Working experience of at least two years in a busy accounting office with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience in data analysis, financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Experience working in healthcare industry as an added advantage.
