VACANCY – BLANTYRE

POST: AUTO & MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANIC/TECHNICIAN

Applicants are invited from suitable and qualified individuals to fill the position of Motor Vehicle Mechanic (both Auto & Mechanics) immediately at AVIS Rent a Car Malawi, Blantyre Office on a full time Five year contract, an energetic, hardworking with excellent leadership and team management skills and an honest individual are some of the attributes for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & WORK EXPERIENCE 

• A minimum of Trade Test Grade 1 or Tevet Level 3
• A minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
• Must have at least 10 years’ working experience in a busy working environment  Must have vast knowledge in computer - Microsoft office.
• Must have good reporting skills
• Good oral and written communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately (Vast experience in engines, gayer boxes of Toyotas, Nissans, Land cruisers etc. is a must )
• Diagnosing problems with vehicles
• Performing maintenance and repair work on cars.
• Repairing brake and steering systems
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic systems
• Conducting routine maintenance work aiming at vehicle functionality and longevity 7) Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks) 8) Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

• Proven experience as auto mechanic
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical electrical and electronic components of vehicles
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g. Pliers) and heavy equipment machines (e.g. lift) and able to operate machines i.e. diagnostic machines
• Willingness to observe all safety pre cautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids and mechanicals.
• Excellent physical condition.
