Dwangwa Cane Growers Limited (DCGL) operates in the agri-business sector by providing agricultural management services to smallholder sugarcane growers. Its area of operation is Dwangwa, 60 km north of Nkhotakota Boma. The company would like to engage a suitable and eligible individual to fill the following vacant position at DCGL.

Building Foreman

Job Purpose

Responsible for supervising and coordinating building maintenance operations to provide timely and cost-effective maintenance services for the company, ensuring work is performed in accordance with the necessary standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Repair and maintain brickwork.

2. Installs foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.

3. Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim.

4. Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.

5. Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.

6. Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repairs or replaces them using hand tools.

7. Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.

8. Paints the interior and exterior of structures, buildings and other surfaces.

Requirements

• Must hold a Malawi School Certificate of Education, preferably with further vocational training.
• Must have at least two years of experience in construction work.
• Must be a mature person below the age of 45.
