BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

NICO Life seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Business Development Manager.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, the successful candidate, who will be accountable for the business development budget and control, achievement of pre-set objectives and targets, and customer acquisition in line with set targets, will have the following as Key Performance Areas:
Key Performance Areas:
- Business Development Planning – Carrying out research and analysis on historical trends and patterns, analysing business growth, development, and performance, and developing annual, quarterly, and other periodic plans and initiatives.
- Budget management and control – Reviewing, analysing, justifying, and consolidating the budget, and monitoring implementation.
- Business growth and customer acquisition – Developing client acquisition models, initiatives, and plans, generating proposals, and implementing customer acquisition plans that increase value to the company.
- Client service support – Interfaces with the Customer Experience team to build and nurture a customer service culture across the department and the company through training, coaching, and mentoring, and drives client service support for the business development team.
- New product development and marketing – Oversees the adequacy of the business development channels to meet strategic objectives, identifies product and service gaps, participates in the development of proposals for new products, and reviews and evaluates new and existing product performance.
- People management – In liaison with the Human Resources Business Partner, takes full charge of the Human Capital Cycle Management responsibilities for the department.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market dynamics.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A first university degree in Commerce, Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or any of the Social Sciences from a reputable and recognized university.
- A good understanding of Life Insurance business.
- At least six (6) years’ experience in Business Development or Sales and Marketing, three (3) of which must have been at a middle management level.
- Candidates with an Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) will have an added advantage.
