VACANCY

St Andrews Community Hospital is a non-profit making institution under the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi. The Hospital is a member of the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM). It offers inpatient and outpatient services. St Andrews Community Hospital would like to recruit suitably qualified personnel to fill the following vacant positions with immediate effect:

 

POSITION:  CLINICAL TECHNICIAN/OFFICER (Grade K)  (1 Position)

RESPONSIBLE TO: MEDICAL OFFICER

           

PURPOSE: The job holder is responsible for undertaking day to day clinical duties and periodic medical examinations.  Must have supervisory skills and good analytical skills, he/she must demonstrate the ability to attend to medical duty calls after working hours.

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Must have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine obtained from recognized University/institution
  • Must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi and current
  • Must have not less than two year of Clinical Experience under a busy hospital

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage various medical and surgical conditions in line with National Treatment Guidelines and Protocols
  • Conduct regular ward rounds and in-patients as necessary
  • Conduct regular or scheduled out-patient clinics
  • Participate in the training and supervision of clinicians and nurses (Students Internships whenever possible) under his/her control
  • Conduct surgical procedures of generic surgery and gynaecology/obstetrics
  • Ensure compliance with minimum standards of clinical services by all staff under him/her including infection prevention guidelines and coordinate the preparation and maintenance of up to date patient medical records
  • Perform routine monitoring of health indicators and using data in planning and management of health services.
