The Agricultural Research and Extension Trust (ARET) is Malawi’s premier institution in tobacco research, extension and training services. Established in 1995 and funded primarily by tobacco growers, ARET’s core activities include development and dissemination of tobacco technologies and training of tobacco stakeholders in order to sustain and improve agricultural productivity while conserving the natural resources.

An opportunity has arisen for highly motivated professionals with requisite academic qualifications and technical expertise to fill existing vacant posts that have arisen in ARET as follows:-

DRIVER (1 POST)

The Candidate

An energetic, personable team player, the successful candidate will be expected to drive Trust’s vehicles to a competent and safe standard, while ensuring that pedestrians, motorists and passengers on the roadway are protected

Tenable at: ARET Research Stations

Key Function

Reporting to the Head Driver and Mechanic, the successful candidate will provide secure and timely driving services to ARET officers to specified destinations, while ensuring vehicle operation is in safe operating condition while observing road traffic regulations as well as the Trust standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Malawi Schools Certificate of Education (MSCE).
• Valid Class C1 and Category PG driving Licence
• Defensive Driving Certificate.
• At least three years relevant work experience of driving motor vehicles.
