FINANCE DIRECTOR

Limbe Leaf Tobacco Company invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above position tenable at our Head Office in Lilongwe.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will, among other duties, be responsible for the following:

• Aligning the company’s financial strategy with the business strategy.
• Implementing and monitoring the company’s annual budget.
• Analysing and reporting on business performance in a timely and accurate manner.
• Optimising capital structure and working capital in accordance with established goals.
• Analysing and managing financial risk .
• Preparing quarterly forecasts and performance monitoring.
• Participating in commercial negotiations with suppliers.
• Performing financial due diligence on projects.
• Treasury management.
• Managing and monitoring all foreign exchange transactions.
• Ensure compliance and reporting with statutory regulations.
• Designing, implementing and monitoring financial controls.
• Managing and reviewing shareholders’ reporting.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least 15 years post qualification experience.
• Not less than 5 years’ experience at Finance Director level.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Contract law and Taxation law.
• Knowledge of relevant computer applications and strong analytical skills.
• Commercial experience.
