GENERAL MANAGER

Blantyre Sports Club invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position above. We are looking for a dynamic individual with good communication, interpersonal, analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to work under pressure.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of Bachelorโ€™s Degree in any field, those with a Degree in Hospitality and MBA will have added advantage.
  • At least 10 yearsโ€™ experience
  • Must have sound hospitality administrative and management experience capable of managing multiple tasks and have the ability to compile accurate financial reports.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the overall direction and leadership of the Club
  • Reporting to the Board of Directors and ensuring the Board of Directors are fully informed on the conditions and operations of the Club
  • Providing the highest level of customer relations and service.
  • Ensuring compliance with Clubโ€™s policies and procedures as well as those of the supervisory authorities.
  • Ensuring management of strategic risk, developing long term sustainable strategic plans and recommending annual program goals to the Board of Directors
  • Setting targets for executive management and division heads, monitoring their performance, and coordinating club activities
  • Exhibit visible leadership by embodying the clubโ€™s values, inspiring staff, and fulfilling duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Possesses strong knowledge of the hospitality industry, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and outstanding written and verbal abilities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of prioritizing and maraging multiple projects in high-pressure environments while meeting deadlines and targets.
  • Demonstrates integrity, energy, self-motivation, and administrative independence, with a strong ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Skilled in teamwork, problem-solving, and with a results-driven and analytical approach.
