Health Economist - Zambia
AFIDEP s a regional non-profit research and policy Institute whose mission is to institutionalize a culture of consistent use of evidence in public policy formulation and impiementation to address various development challenges in Africa.
AFIDEP is implementing work in Zambia and other African countries aiming to achieve increased and
efficient use of domestic health financing with a focus on primary health care and women's and girls health.
AFIDEP is looking for a Health Economist to lead the design and implementation of this work in Zambia. The role will involve working hand-in-hand with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and other govern ment ministries, parliament, and relevant private sector and civil society stakeholders at both national and sub-national levels.
The focus will mainly be on
providing the technical assistance that the government needs to inform and accelerate the implementation of its commitments and strategies to.increasing domestic financing for
health, and enhancing efficiency in the use of health budget allocations. The candidate will.focus their support on improving PHC, which is the most cost-effective way to save lives, as well as FP/MNCAH.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Economics, Health Economics, or other relevant disciplines, or Masters Degree with more than 5 years of relevant working experience in Zambia.
