Job Title: House Keeper

Location: Lilongwe

Job Description

We are seeking a responsible and dedicated individual to fill the position of House Keeper. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for in-house cleaning and assisting with cooking tasks. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment within the household.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. In-House Cleaning
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Clean bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas thoroughly on a regular basis.
  • Organize household items and ensure that all areas are tidy and presentable.
  • Manage laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing clothes, and organizing wardrobes.
  • Organising dining table for different meals which include; breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 

  1. Cooking Assistance
  • Assist in meal preparation.
  • Follow recipes accurately to prepare simple meals as required e.g. sandwich, coffee and tea.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes and cleaning cooking utensils after use.
  • Help with grocery shopping by creating lists based on household needs.

 

  1. General Household Support
  • Run errands as needed (e.g., grocery shopping).
  • Assist with other household chores as assigned by the employer.
  • Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked and report when supplies are low.

 

Other requirements

  • Must be a good English speaker
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or similar roles is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic cooking skills; ability to follow instructions is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with flexible hours based on household needs.
  • Must be willing to adapt to changing schedules or additional duties as required.

 

Qualification

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
  • Housekeeping training at a reputable institution will be an added advantage
