VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Timotheos Foundation is a local Malawian Christian Charity whose main objective is to support and care for orphans and other vulnerable children in Malawi. It was established on 1st September 2011 and officially registered under the Trustees incorporation act of Malawi on 3rd July 2012. We are affiliated to CONGOMA as well as the NGO Regulatory Authority. The organization is seeking to recruit a competent, committed, self-motivated, enthusiastic and Godfearing candidate of Malawian nationality for the position as detailed below;
Position : Human Resources Manager
Reporting to : General Manager
Location : Head Office, Blantyre
Status of Employment : 1 year contract renewable depending on performance and conduct
Overall responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing and enhancing the Human Capital Development of Timotheos Foundation. This role involves the strategic Human Resources Management as well as resourcing and management of internal talent in order to promote organizational capability so that the organisation attracts and maintains employees that are well suited and motivated to achieve the organizational goals.
Key roles and responsibilities
1. Strategic Human Resource Management
- Contribute to the strategic development of Human Resources within the organisation in alignment with the mission and objectives.
- Developing initiatives to align HR with the organization's strategic direction.
- Ensure proper implementation of new initiatives and programs
- Monitor and evaluate the day-to-day effectiveness of HR policies and initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
- Develop and implement HR policies, processes and procedures e.g. recruitment policy, succession plan, transport, medical and pension.
- Report on a quarterly base about activities.
- Prepare a yearly and quarterly plannings of HR activities
- Participate in management team meetings.
2. Recruitment
- Conducts Job Analysis for both existing and new jobs in the organisation.
- Develop recruitment practices that are in line with the best practice. They should also be in line with the legislative and organisation policy.
- Develop and create HR tools including job descriptions, competence profiles and assessment tools.
- Providing coaching and mentoring services to managers to develop recruitment skills.
3. Cost effectiveness
- Participate in formulating the HR Budget
- Control the relevant budgets
4. People management
- Provide leadership and support to the human resources officers, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment with eye for the wellbeing of employees.
- Supervise the execution of tasks
- Conduct regular performance reviews
- Coach and guide the teammembers
5. Participate in the implementation of staff life cycle activities in line with the Malawian labour laws
e.g. integration of new staff into the organization, probations, promotions, demotions, staff movements disciplinary actions, terminations/dismissals by ensuring that the HR policies are observed.
6. Serve as a contact for employees in case of any queries regarding policies and procedures.
7. Resolving personnel-related problems.

6. Education & work qualification
- Possession of Degree in Human Resources Management
- A valid clean SADC driving license
- 5 Years’ experience in an HR management role
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
