Action Medeor Medical Aid Organization Ltd (AMM) is a non-profit pharmaceutical and Health Technology Devices wholesaler with its head office in Germany, branches in Tanzania, Malawi and partners in several countries in the World. Action medeorโ€™s core values are based on solidarity

The organization supports the existing health care structures in Malawi to improve access to essential medicines, medical equipment and Health Technology Devices to other non-profit organizations which include Faith Based Hospitals, Non-Governmental Organizations, Government Health Facilities and other Charitable Institutions.

Action medeor Malawi seeks to engage the services of suitably qualified, motivated, capable and experienced IT Developers to fill the vacant position of IT Developers tenable at its Lilongwe Office in Area 4. The ideal candidate must have strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of various programming languages and development frameworks. The IT Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications including Electronic Medical Records and Planned Preventative Maintenance that meet the needs of our organization and clients.

 

JOB TITLE: IT DEVELOPER (2 POSTS)

PLACE OF SERVICE: LILONGWE, MALAWI

DEPARTMENT: Digital Health and Information Communication Technology

DURATION: 1 year contract with the possibility of renewal based on performance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the development, implementation and revision of policies, operational manuals and procedures regarding the operations of the Digital Health and information Communication Technology section.
  • Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining new software applications
  • Assist Management in the process of researching of Electronic Hospital System
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • Developing of Internal portals (Website and PPM)
  • Assure functionality of the Hospital System and ongoingly improve the system.
  • Regular installment of the Hospital System and training to Clients.
  • Generating reports by extracting data from the Hospital system
  • Ensure good communication with national and international project team
  • Take over general IT tasks, Solving all IT related issues and report on time
  • Ensure security and privacy of network and computer systems.
  • Promotion of action medeor Malawi Digital health products
  • Visiting clients, doing surveys, recording complaints and reporting to Management for solutions
  • Carry out any other tasks as requested by action medeor management.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and Frameworks (React Native, .Net, python, PHP and HTML)
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently when required (Malawi and Tanzania).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex technical issues.
  • Advanced English Skills (Speaking and writing) and advanced MS Office Skills are required.
  • Experience with Business central 365 is an advantage
  • Well Organized, proactive, Self-motivated, committed, mature and creative
  • Ability to perform trainings and work in a team
  • Holds self-accountable for making decisions and managing resources efficiently
  • Sets ambitious and challenging goals in consultation with Management
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships, with the team and other relevant stakeholders

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • Relevant Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Programming or related qualification from a recognized institution of Higher Learning
  • Minimum 2 years hands on work experience in working with IT Systems
