POSITION: LANGUAGE TEACHER

JOB SUMMARY:
Kingdom Builders Academy, an esteemed private secondary school in Zomba, Malawi, is seeking dedicated and passionate English and Chichewa Teachers to join our dynamic team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive English and Chichewa lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
2. Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment that fosters respect, active participation, and constructive learning.
3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress through evaluations, tests, and assignments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
4. Individualized Support: Identify and address the learning needs of individual students, providing additional support and challenges as required.
5. Cultivate Reading and Writing Skills: Foster a love for literature and language by encouraging reading habits and refining students’ writing abilities.
6. Extracurricular Involvement: Encourage student participation in English and Chichewa-related extracurricular activities such as debates, writing clubs, or literary events.
7. Collaboration: Collaborate with other subject teachers and school staff to facilitate cross-disciplinary projects and maintain a cohesive learning environment.
8. Parent-Teacher Communication: Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
9. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay updated on teaching methodologies and educational best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University or equivalent degree or certificate. Preferably in English Language or related field (Education, Literature, etc.)
• An experienced teacher, with positive track record
• Previous experience in teaching at the secondary level is preferred
• Proficiency in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
• Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into the learning process.
