POST: LECTURER (GRADE TG)

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should be serving Teachers/Lecturers at Grade TI with a minimum of four (4) years teaching experience at that grade in the Government Teaching Service, or serving Senior Teachers/Senior Lecturersat Grade TH, regardless of experience in the Government Teaching Service and holding a Master’s Degree or PhD and holding first degree with credit, in the following specified teaching areas: English, Agriculture, Physics, Chemistry and Human Ecology (Clothing and Textile and Early Childhood).Registration with the Teachers Council of Malawi will be an added advantage.

JOB PURPOSE

To teach, mentor and help learners to achieve their highest potential in and outside class and develop into useful, confident and responsible citizens.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates shall be responsible to the Head of Department (HoD) and will carry out the following:

a. Teaching and devising best learning approaches for students;
b. Supervising students’ projects/research works and teaching practice;
c. Assessing students’ performance while adhering to assessment procedures and deadlines and maintaining progress records;
d. Carrying out research, consultancy, community engagement and participate in curriculum development;
e. Providing guidance and counselling services to students; and
f. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
