Overview
The Office of the Ombudsman is a public body established under the Republic of Malawi Constitution. Section 123 of the Constitution accords the Office of the Ombudsman the mandate to investigate any and all cases where it is alleged that a person has suffered an injustice and it does not appear that there is any remedy reasonably available by way of proceedings in a court, or by way of appeal from a court, or where there is no other practicable remedy.
The Office of the Ombudsman is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions:
Job title : Motor Vehicle Driver
Grade : OMB12
Reporting to : Head Motor Vehicle Driver (OMB11)
Duty Station : Lilongwe, and Mzuzu
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Driving vehicles on official errands;
- Loading or unloading baggage, documents or goods;
- Maintaining log books for each trip, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes and greasing;
- Reporting vehicle breakdowns or accidents following the laid down steps;
- Maintaining schedules of Road Tax, and Insurance for vehicles and informing administration when renewal is due;
- Carrying routine and day to day care and minor maintenance of official vehicles; and
- Performing any other duties relevant to the post.
Qualifications and Experience
- Malawi Schools Certificate Education (MSCE);
- A valid Driving Licence, and
- At least 2years experience.
