Main Function
The Member Service Officer is responsible for supervising the business development, financial, and administrative operations of the SACCO. This role involves maintaining accurate records of SACCO transactions, managing membership recruitment, ensuring timely financial reporting, and implementing policies and procedures for efficient SACCO operations.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Membership Recruitment & Retention:
- Conduct SACCO sensitization meetings.
- Facilitate registration of potential members.
- Plan and implement strategies for member recruitment.
Mobilization of Shares, Savings, etc.:
- Remind and follow up with members for monthly share purchases.
- Maintain updated member records.
- Resolve member queries promptly.
Growing a Healthy Loan Portfolio:
- Assist members with loan applications.
- Assess loan applications and monitor repayments.
- Ensure loans are managed efficiently.
Efficient Process Management:
- Prepare financial reports and payment vouchers.
- Conduct cashier duties and provide member account balances.
- Assist in account operations and processing claims.
Qualification and Experience:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Banking, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a SACCO.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Access, Outlook and Excel
