Malawi College of Health Sciences is a Parastatal Organization with its Central Office in Lilongwe and Campuses in Blantyre, Zomba and Lilongwe. The College is primarily engaged in the training of health workers.

1.LECTURER IN ADULT HEALTH NURSING M6 - Lilongwe Campus

SCOPE OF WORK
To train students at Diploma and Degree Levels

DUTIES
a) Classroom teaching.
b) Teaching and supervising students during practical attachments and clinical work.
c) Setting, administering and marking examinations.
d) Preparing duty rosters and time tables.
e) Participating in curriculum development and review.
f) Preparing course outlines.
g) Counseling students on both academic and disciplinary matters according to College rules and regulations.
h) Attending departmental and academic meetings.
i) Writing academic reports.
j) Identifying clinical sites for students' practicals.
k) Initiating and participating in research activities.

ABILITIES, ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS

Must be of high integrity and trustworthy

Must have good communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Masters Degree in Adult Health Nursing.
• 3 years work experience in the clinical environment

2.LECTURER IN BASIC SCIENCES M6-MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS (Lilongwe Campus)

SCOPE OF WORK
To train students at Diploma and Degree Levels

DUTIES
a) Classroom teaching.
b) Setting, administering and marking examinations.
c) Preparing duty rosters and time tables.
d) Participating in curriculum development and review.
e) Preparing course outlines.
f) Counseling students on both academic and disciplinary matters according to College rules and regulations.
g) Attending departmental and academic meetings.
h) Writing academic reports.
i) Initiating and participating in research activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
•Masters of Science in Mathematics and Biostatistics
• 3 years teaching experience

3.LECTURER IN OPHTHALMOLOGY M6 - Lilongwe Campus

SCOPE OF WORK
To train students at Diploma and Degree Levels

DUTIES
a) Classroom teaching.
b) Teaching and supervising students during practical attachments and clinical work.
c) Setting, administering and marking examinations.
d) Preparing duty rosters and time tables.
e) Participating in curriculum development and review.

j) Identifying clinical sites for students' practicals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Ophthalmology
2 years' experience in relevant field.

4.LECTURER IN RADIOGRAPHY M6 - Lilongwe Campus

SCOPE OF WORK
To train students at Diploma and Degree Levels

DUTIES
a) Classroom teaching.
b) Identifying clinical sites for student's practicals.
c) Teaching and supervising students during practical attachments and clinical work.
d) Setting, administering and marking examinations.
e) Preparing duty rosters and time tables.
f) Participating in curriculum development and review.
g) Preparing course outlines.
h) Counseling students on both academic and disciplinary matters according to college rules and regulations.
i) Attending departmental and academic meetings.
j) Writing academic reports.
k) Initiating and participating in research activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Masters or Bachelor's degree in Radiography plus a minimum of a Diploma in Ultrasound.

5.LECTURER IN PHARMACY M6 - Lilongwe Campus

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To train students at Certificate, Diploma and Degree Levels

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Teaching students in class, skills laboratory and clinical area.
b) Carrying out formative and summative assessments
c) Participating in the development of academic and administrative tools.
d) Counseling students on academic matters.
e) Attending departmental and academic meetings.
f) Conducting research and consultancies.

•Must be able to work with minimum supervision
•Must be of high integrity and trustworthy

•Must have good communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

•Degree in Pharmacy.
• 3 years work experience in the clinical environment

6.CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR M6-Blantyre Campus

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To train students at Certificate, Diploma and Degree levels.

7.SECURITY OFFICER (M8) - Zomba Campus

SCOPE OF WORK
To safeguard and protect College and staff property, student's property and lives of staff and students.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES
Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
5 years work experience in security section

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Supervising security staff under his charge and from outsourced companies
•Preparing duty rosters and work records
•Conducting drills and daily briefing of security personnel
• Orientating new security staff
• Escorting Accounts staff to and from banks
• Sorting out minor grievances among security personnel
• Enforcing smartness and discipline among security personnel
• Carrying out performance appraisals on security staff.
• Carrying out snap checks during day and at night
