Overview

ADMARC Limited Company was established as Statutory Corporation in 1971 under Chapter 67.03 of the Laws of Malawi. The Act was repealed in 2003. Following that, ADMARC was incorporated as a Limited Liability Company, under the Companies Act. The repeal saw ADMARC Limited becoming a non-subverted Statutory Corporation, but with Government being a major shareholder with up to 99% shares.

ADMARC Limited, a Statutory Corporation in Agricultural Marketing is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following position:

 

1. Divisional Manager (Grade AL 3, reporting to the Director of Operations based at various Divisional Offices)

Purpose of the Job

To manage and facilitate effective commercial operations and marketing functions at division level.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Monitoring markets in their operational areas to ensure that AL’s resources for the purchases of produce and cash received from produce sales within their areas are properly accounted for and managed.
  2. Receiving and analyzing information on produce stock positions in their operating area and providing senior
    management with timely information.
  3. Providing data on historical produce movements by date, area and weather.
  4. Preparing and providing with reports on stock levels by markets, day, week and stock trend analysis e.t.c;
  5. Collecting and providing produce prices by time series analysis, district, market, time of year, e.t.c;
  6. Compiling reports on non-performing markets by such factors as frequency of stock discrepancies; level of
    stock discrepancy; frequency of non-submission of reports, e.t.c
  7. Coordinating the distribution of agricultural commodities, inputs and packaging materials in the region
  8. Conducting and facilitating regular research to identify new areas with commercial market potential and
    advising on the way-forward
  9. Managing the development and implementation of divisional budgets and annual work plans
  10. Coordinating contracts for outsourced services at divisional level, if any
  11. Ensuring that assets, infrastructure and other resources are safe and appropriately used.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/ Agribusiness/Business Administration/Economics from an accredited
    institution
  • Master’s degree in agriculture/Agribusiness/Business Administration/Economics from a recognized institution will be as added advantage.
  • Seven (7) years working experience.

 

 

2. Internal Audit Manager reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board (Grade AL3 based at Head Office)

Purpose of The Job

To provide internal audit services

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Designing, developing and reviewing internal audit policies, procedures, systems and user manuals
  2. Ensuring that adequate policy and procedures manuals are in place for all operations of AL
  3. Developing and monitoring implementation of risk management programs, strategies and activities
  4. Managing the development, review and implementation of annual work plans, audit programmes and budget for the Unit activities
  5. Monitoring and offering advice on the performance of approved budget and utilization of company resources
  6. Preparing and submitting/presenting audit reports to Management and Board of Directors
  7. Conducting/supervising investigations on any incidents of fraud, theft, forgeries, accidents and other losses
    to establish reasons for control failures and advise remedial measures
  8. Facilitating redress such as litigation, recovery and insurance claims
  9. Liaising with and providing support to external auditors to ensure that audit exercises are completed on time and efficiently
  10. Developing and monitoring implementation of risk management programs, strategies and activities.
  11. Preparing periodic operational reports

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Auditing/ Accounting/ Finance obtained from a recognized institution
  • Plus Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, CIA
  • Plus five (5) years’ experience at senior management level in auditing.

 

 

 

3. Senior Operations Officer reporting to the Divisional Manager (Grade AL 4 based at Head Office/Divisional
Offices)

Purpose of the Job

To coordinate and facilitate effective operations of commercial markets in the district

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conducting market inspections according to Company policies
  2. Facilitating timely disbursement of cash to markets for operational and crop purchases
  3. Ensuring timely collection of cash from markets
  4. Supervising Market Officers in their operational areas to ensure that resources for the purchases of produce and cash received from sales within their areas are properly accounted for and managed
  5. Receiving and analyzing information on produce stock positions in their operating area and providing timely
    information to RO
  6. Providing data on historical produce movements by date, ADD and weather;
  7. Preparing reports on stock levels by markets, day, week and stock trend analysis e.t.c;
  8. Collecting produce prices by time series analysis, district, market, time of year, e.t.c;
  9. Preparing reports on non performing markets by such factors as frequency of stock discrepancies; level of
    stock discrepancy; frequency of non-submission of reports, e.t.c
  10. Conducting regular research to identify new areas with commercial market potential and advising on the way-forward
  11. Managing and coordinating pest and quality control operations in the division

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Agribusiness/Agriculture Economics from a recognized institution.
  • Pus four (4) years relevant work experience.

 

 

4. Senior Administration Officer reporting to Human Resources and Administration Manager (Grade AL 4 based at Head Office)

Purpose of the Job
To plan, direct and coordinate office support services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Managing office support services such as secretarial, messengerial, transport, registry, accommodation,
    cleaning and landscaping services
  2. Controlling and managing the use of Company vehicles
  3. Participating actively in strategic business management processes
  4. Managing AL’s internal communication systems
  5. Managing the Medical Scheme under MASM
  6. Managing and coordinating the distribution of office equipment and furniture
  7. Managing houses, offices, cottages and market infrastructure and land belonging to the company
    preserve and improve their outlook and utilization
  8. Coordinating staff travel outside and within the country
  9. Facilitating up-to-date inventory for AL’s assets
  10. Providing advice on best administration practices and policies
  11. Managing the preparation and implementation of annual work plans and budget for the administration section

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration/ Business Administration/Human Resources from recognized
    institution
  • Plus four (4) years’ work experience at senior level in an organisation of comparable size and complexity.

 

 

5. Senior Public Relations Officer reporting the Chief Executive Officer (Grade AL 4 Based at Head Office)

Purpose of the Job
To implement public relations activities, policies, programs, plans to ensure good reputation of the company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Creating and maintaining a positive corporate image of the Company and promoting the interest of stakeholders
  2. Organizing and coordinating corporate events such as road shows, civic education campaigns, donations e.t.c
  3. Developing and maintaining a good rapport with the press releases
  4. Participating in the development and production of corporate publications including Annual Reports.
  5. Analyzing media issues and advising management accordingly
  6. Managing the website of the company
  7. Generating articles for the media, general public and other stakeholders
  8. Participating in serving as a mouthpiece of the Company
  9. Carrying out staff sensitization using internal communication channels such as newsletters
  10. Providing accurate and up to date information to stakeholders and members of the public
  11. Conducting Corporate image audits and customer surveys

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Business Administration/Public Relations/Mass Communication/ Marketing from a recognized institution
  • Plus four (4) years’ practical experience in busy organization of comparable size.

 

 

6. Senior Accountant reporting to the Director of Finance (Grade AL 4 based at Head Office)

Purpose of the Job
To manage financial and accounting services for effective and efficient utilization of financial resources in the company

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Managing revenue and expenditure, sales and stocks and generating monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the same.
  2. Managing daily AL’s financial transactions/cash flow and timely processing of invoices
  3. Planning and preparation of corporate and income tax; and submission of VAT to MRA
  4. Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management, internal controls and safeguarding tangible and intangible assets
  5. Reviewing and maintaining sound financial and accounts management systems
  6. Supervision of creditors and debtors
  7. Assisting on financial audits and liaising with external auditors
  8. Managing AL’s working capital
  9. Negotiating for major projects, loans and grants and liaising with government treasury department
  10. Supervising preparation of general ledger
  11. Production of financial and management accounting reports
  12. Supervising subordinates to ensure that the company provides an acceptable level of financial management
    services.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting /Finance from a recognized institution and a full professional qualification
    such as: ACCA, CIMA, ICAM and ACA
  • Four (4) years’ relevant work experience at senior level
