Malawi Catering Services Limited invites applications from suitably qualified individuals of Malawian origin to fill the following vacant positions at its Head Offices at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe.
MCSL is looking for dynamic and Independent professionals to work in various positions that have fallen vacant. The candidates should be experienced, flexible, enthusiastic, and with an โI can-do attitudeโ to join our team as follows: โ
1. INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER (1 POSITION)
The Manager shall provide expertise in the Internal Audit Section in all audit work processes and any other audit-related work.
The following are some of the major duties and responsibilties: โ
- Carrying out a full audit of an organization and taking the necessary risk management steps to forestall fraud
- Ensuring control management regarding financial reliability and compliance by making sure that directions and regulations are strictly adhered to
- Obtaining, analyzing, and evaluating accounting documentation, reports, and data
- Periodically report to the Board and Senior Management on the performance of the Function and other significant issues;
- Acting objectively by giving independent advice to ensure legality and achieve organizational goals
- Document the audit process and preparation of audit findings
- Follow-up on the audit assignments given
- Participating in meetings with different departments to update audit findings and improve the audit process
- Supervising, training, and mentoring staff on audit processes; and assessing the performance of audit-related issues
- Conducting risk assessments and also preparing risk registers for the organization or company
- Performing other related tasks as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications/Competencies/Skills
- Candidates should possess a Bachelorโs Degree in Internal Auditing or Accountancy from a recognized
University, - Masterโs degree in Auditing or related field, ACCA or professional certitication in internal auditing will be an added advantage,
- Membership with the Institute of Internal Auditors Malawi, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Malawi (ICAM),
- Practical experience in risk management Issues, compliance, and fraud management and related issue
- 5 yearsโ experience at manager level and above; or any combination of head level experience and manager level experience in a busy organisation
- Proficient with the IPPF (International Professional Practices Framework).
- Experience in evaluating systems and processes, identifying weaknesses and improvement areas.
- Experience in countering fraud, fraud awareness, and case investigation management.
- Computer fluency; highly competent using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and experience working in complex financial systems.
2. REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN (1 POSITION)
JOB PURPOSE
To maintain and ensure safe condition and functioning of all refrigeration systems
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration and Heating Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Diagnose system issues and perform routine maintenance and preventive repairs.
- Monitor system performance and ensure all components are functioning correctly and efficienty.
- Calibrate system controls, such as thermostats and sensors, to achieve optimal temperature and energy efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical instructions.
- Comply with all safety standards and regulations for refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
- Document all service and repair activities, including parts used and time spent on each job.
- Maintain the inventory of tools, parts, and supplies needed for various jobs.
- Provide excellent customer service and clear communication with clients.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES/ COMPETENCES
- Malawi TEVET Diploma (Level 4) or its equivalent
- MSCE
- 2 to 3 years of work experience
- Good communication skills
- Prompt action on refrigeration issues
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
3. PLANT OPERATOR โ (RESPONSIBLE FOR WATER TREATMENT) 1 POSITION
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operating water treatment plant equipment such as pumps, valves, filters, and chemical feed systems.
- Performing regular inspections and tests on water samples to monitor treated water quality
- Maintaining accurate water treatment plant operations records, including daly logs, test results, chemical usage, and maintenance activities
- Conduct routine plant cleaning and maintenance on equipment and machinery such as pumps, valves, filters, and chemical feed systems, and coordinate repairs as needed to prevent breakdowns and ensure the continued functionality of the treatment plant
- Conducting RO system CIP to ensure maximum efficiency and high-quality product of water.
- Using computerized control systems to monitor and adjust water treatment processes,
- Identitying and troubleshooting any operational issues or malfunctions in the water treatment process and reporting to the supervisor.
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of water treatment processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols
- Good communication skills, report writing skills, team player, self-starter
- Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Processes (CGMP).
- Ability to adapt to changing water treatment processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with handling and applying chemicals used in water treatment
- The candidate must be conversant with MS-21. MS- 560 and relevant ISO standards.
Qualification and Experience
- A minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education with at least 2 years of experience
- Those with a Certificate in mechanical/electrical engineering or a certificate in a related field will have an added advantage.
4. PLANT OPERATOR โ BLOWER/FILLER OPERATOR (1 POSITION)
Duties and Responsibility
- Operate and monitor blower/tiller machines to blow and fill water bottles accurately and efficiently
- Inspect blown and filled bottles for defects, such as irregular shapes, sizes, undertills, overfills, or improper capping.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
- Loading and unloading of pet resign, molds, and other materials as needed
- Clean and sanitize the filler machine, surrounding areas, and equipment to prevent contamination.
- Identifying and resolving issues with machine performance, material quality, filing, accuracy, or production output.
- Program blow molding machine and filler machine with specific production parameters, such as temperatures, pressure, and cycle time as well as fill volume, filling speed, and capping torque.
- Operate CIP systems to clean and sanitize the filler machine and associated piping.
- Perform mold changeovers to produce different bottle sizes, shapes or design as well as changeovers for the filler machine to accommodate different bottle sizes, shapes or packaging configurations.
- Follow safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintaining accurate records of production and maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good communication skills, Report writing skills, Team player, Self-starter
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with frequent machine noise and movement.
- Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Processes (CGMP)
- Ability to work in an environment with heat
- Ability to stand for long hours during production and ability to lift up to 50 kgs and move heavy equipment or materials
- The candidate must be conversant with MS-21 and relevant ISO standards.
Qualification and Experience
- A minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education with at least 2 years of experience
- Those with a Certificate in mechanical/electrical engineering or a certificate in a related field will have an added advantage.
