ShareWORLD Open University is a registered and accredited University by the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE). The Universityโs major objective is to offer various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes/ courses intended to train leaders for Malawi and abroad. ย ย The University has over 60 members of staff on board and enrolls approximately 300 students in these programmes in a year.
The Universityย is running Certificate andย Diploma Programmesย in conjunctionย withย well-knownย professional bodies, i.e. ABE, ABM,ย ICAM,ย CIPS, etc.,ย as part ofย itsย expansion strategy andย in order ย ย toย increase student enrolment.ย Inย view of the above,ย ย it ย hasย becomeย necessaryย ย toย recruitย ย Tutors forย the Courses in these Programmesย ย andย anย internal Coordinatorย toย manageย these Certificate and Diplomaย Programmes ย separately ย fromย other University activities.
Major duties and responsibilities:ย
1) Tutors will beย responsible for ย facilitating,ย advisingย andย organizing teaching courses in the following disciplines,
- Computing & Information Systems
- Social & Community Development
- Business Management
2) The Coordinator shall consolidate all program initiatives and ensuring that activities regarding the professional courses are properly followed up. These will among other things include: monitoring implementation of program practices and guidelines, managing staff work assignments, workloads and work schedules, e.g. time tables, examinations and coordinating interactions between students and all other program stakeholders.
Preferable knowledge, skills and abilities
- Coordinator with BSc. /BA Degree in Education and/or other related qualification.
- Tutors with Degree ย orย orientationย withย Professional bodiesย above disciplines
- Ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
