BACKGROUND
Medfirst Pharmacy is located along M5 Road at Dwangwa Trading Centre close to Proto Feeds building in Nkhotakota District. It offers extensive health care services and pharmaceutical products to the public. It fosters the vision of becoming the center of all health care needs. In order to achieve its vision, the pharmacy is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill
the vacant position of a nurse which has risen at the pharmacy.
JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- The nurse will directly be reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist
- Conducting clinical assessment on patients and making necessary and relevant interventions thereof as it deems fit.
- Management of illnesses
- Advising patients on rational drug use based on their disease condition
- Making necessary and appropriate recommendations on disease management and
treatment - Working hand-in-hand with the pharmacy managing pharmacist and the junior staff available
- Conducting monthly physical inventory together with the pharmacist
- Acknowledging receipt of consignment and together with the pharmacist, enter them into
Xponet Systems (Inventory and Dispensing Software) which the pharmacy uses - Helping and educating junior staff on pre-packaging of medicines
- And any other duties relevant to the post.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be diploma or degree holder
- Must be registered with Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Must be computer literate especially knowledgeable in MS Word and Excel
- Ability to handle difficult situations including difficult clients
- Bound to professional ethics and conduct
- Temperate and mature in their conduct
- Team player and team builder
- No history of criminal record including theft
- Hard worker and ability to work in a busy environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Fast learner.
