Women’s Legal Resources Centre (WOLREC) is a women’s rights Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with its secretariat based in Blantyre. WOLREC is registered under the Trustees Incorporation Act, (1962) Cap 5:03, CONGOMA and NGO Board. WOLREC’s Vision is a Society where women’s rights recognized, respected, and protected. Our Mission is to facilitate increased access to social, economic, and legal justice for women and girls in Malawi. WOLREC has received a grant from EU through Oxfam in Malawi to implement a project on “Enhancing Meaningful Participation of Women, Youth and Marginalised Groups in Political Processes and Decision-Making.” The project will be implemented in Dedza, Mulanje, Machinga, Mzimba, Rumphi, Salima, Nsanje. In view of this, vacancies have arisen within the organisation as follows:-

Programme Officers – 3 Posts available (north, centre and south)

Duties and Responsibilities of the Programme Officers include but not limited to the following:

• Identify project beneficiaries.
• Build capacity of project participants in impact districts
• Provide technical support to project participants.
• Make follow ups on how project participants are progressing.
• Document success stories from project participants for sharing in WOLREC’s wider networks.
• Network with other likeminded institutions implementing similar projects
• Participate in stakeholder meetings at district level on behalf of WOLREC.
• Any other duties as assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Political Science, Community Development, Rural development with
    5 years’ experience or Diploma in Social science, Community development, Rural development with 10 years’ experience in development work

• Self-starter/motivated
• Able to work under minimum supervision.
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills
