OSSEDI collaborates with local and international partners to implement transformative projects aimed at improving the social and economic well-being of marginalized masses.
About the Project: with funding from the Scottish government through DAI Global UK, OSSEDI will be facilitating implementation of CJC project in close collaboration with Machinga district council in TA Ngokwe. The project will ultimately contribute to a just transition and demonstrate the value of the locally-led adaptation model.
Position Overview: OSSEDI is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Accountant to oversee the financial aspects of the CJC project. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, budgeting, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the project.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial transactions.
- Monitor project budgets and provide regular financial reports to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and monitor project budgets.
- Prepare financial forecasts and variance analyses to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with DAI Global UK's financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
- Work closely with project managers to track and report on the utilization of project funds.
- Provide financial information for grant reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years experience as an accountant, preferably in the NGO sector.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
- Excellent proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic project environment.
- Familiarity with the socio-economic context of Machinga district, Malawi, is desirable.
