Overview

The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Government Health Service Commission and Local Government Service Commission, wishes to inform the general public that with support from Global Fund Grant, is recruiting health care workers by conducting walk-in interviews for the under listed cadres as follows:

No POST AND GRADE REQUIRED QUALIFICATION INTERVIEW CENTRE
1 Senior Medical Officer (Grade H)-40 posts Candidates must have Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) plus completion of Internship program and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.

2 Dental Surgeon (Grade H) – 6 posts Candidates must have Bachelor in Dental Surgery OR Doctor of Dental Surgery plus completion of Internship program. Must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
3 Clinical Officer (Grade I/M6) – 40 posts Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine (Mental Health or Pediatric and Child Health or Internal Medicine or Orthopedics & Neurosurgery or General Surgery or Palliative Care or Anaesthesia and Intensive Care or Dermatology or Obstetrics and Gynaecology) plus completion of Internship program. Must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
4 Radiographer (Grade I/M6) – 15 posts Candidates must have BSc in Radiography. Must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
5 Optometrist (Grade I/M6) – 15 posts Candidates must havo BSc in Optometry plus completion of Internship program and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
6 Laboratory Technologist Grade 1/M6)-25 posts Candidates must have BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology or Biomedical Sciences program and must bo rogisterod with Medical Council of Malawi.
7 Nursing Officer [Grade I/M6)-1,000 posts Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Adult Health Nursing or Mental Health Nursing or Community Health Nursing. Must be registered with Nurses and Midwives council of Malawi.
8 Environmental Health Officer (Grade I/M6) -15 posts Candidates must have BSc in Environmental Health obtained from a recognized Institution and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi. OR Serving Assistant Environmental Health Officers (Grade K) with a BSc in Public Health from a recognized institution.
9 Pharmacist (Grade I/M6) – 15 posts Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy. Must be registered with Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority.
10 Clinical Technician (Grade K/M8) – 300 posts Candidates must have Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Clinical Ear Nose & Throat, or Clinical Audiology or Clinical Anaesthesia or Clinical orthopedics or Clinical Dermatology or Clinical Ophthalmology from a recognized institution plus completion of Internship program. Must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
11 Nurse Midwife Technician (Grade K/M8) – 731 posts Candidates must have Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from Recognised Institutions and be registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
12 Assistant Environmental Health Officer (Grade K/M8) – 50 posts Candidates must have Diploma in Environmental Health from recognized institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi
13 Laboratory Tech.(Grade K/M8) – 50 posts Candidates must have Diplômá in Biomedical Sciences from recognized Institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi
14 Dental Technician (Grade K/M8) – 30 posts Candidates must have Diploma in Dental Therapy from recognized Institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi
15 Radiography Technician (Grade K/MB) -30 posts Candidates must have Diploma in Radiography from recognized Institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi
16 Medical Assistant (Grade M9)-100 posts Candidates must have Certificate in Clinical Medicine from recognized Institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi
17 Pharmacy Assistant (Grade M9) – 100 posts Candidates must have Certificate in Pharmacy from recognized Institutions and must be pharmacy and medicine regulatory authority.
18 Community Midwife Assistant (Grade M9) – 100 posts Candidates must have Certificate in Community Midwifery obtained from recognized Institutions and must be registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
19 Senior Biomedical Engineer (Grade H) – on contract Candidates must have BSc in either Biomedical Engineering or Medical Engineering or Bio-Engineering or Clinical Engineering.

The walk-in interviews shall be conducted in all four regional centres from 18 – 20 January, 2024 as follows: –

Candidates who are in possession of the above stipulated relevant qualifications obtained from accredited/ recognised training institutions are invited to attend the interviews at the nearest venue. The candidates will be required to bring their original and photocopies of academic and professional certificates, National Identification Cards, pencils and ball pens.

NOTE: Those who are already employed by Government or Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) or IHAM or are without medical practising licence, need not attend the interviews.
