Department/Area/Site: SHEQ – M1 Road rehabilitation project (Chatoloma / Kasungu)
Function: Project HSEQ Supervisor
Direct / Functional Hierarchy: Project Manager / Market SHEQ Manager

MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Market Health, safety, and Environmental Manager on the identification of all legislations applicable to the project and ensure that all procedure /plans area adjusted to legal requirements.
• Support the Project Manager on identification of all risks regarding Health and safety for the project and implementation of the mitigation and preventive actions.
• Generate and provide applicable reports of SHEQ to the project manager as well as to the Market SHEQ Manager.
• Leading SHEQ on the project to comply to the requirements of the client and other relevant authorities.
• Ensure legal compliance with always OHS Act and any other applicable legislation.
• Coordinate internal training for employees, assist in compiling risk assessments.
• Conduct daily safety toolbox talks
• Manage SHEQ performance of subcontractors, staff and visitors. Ensure all employees/visitors are inducted prior to being permitted to work on site
• Ensure safety related records are maintained, ensure registers and checklists are updated
• Ensure safety signs and notices are prominently displayed, ensure that all applicable inspections are done on time.
• Plan and chair all applicable SHEQ meetings.
• Investigate and reporting on all serious/critical personal injury accidents occurring to employees, staff and/or visitors to the appropriate senior official, and to assist in the investigation of all accidents/incidents that result in substantial damage to company vehicles and property.
• Monitoring health and safety standards. Collect all the information regarding the health and Safety Performance indicators. Centralize and update the information according to the document procedures
• Compiling and updating of health, safety, and Environment file. Manage Safety Representatives
• Identify and monitor the findings (non-conformities, improvements opportunities and good practices), and support The HSE Manager to execute internal Audits to the Project Team, Subcontractors, and suppliers. In improvement actions to ensure the improvement of efficiency of the project targets
• Any other duties assigned from time to time

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

• Recognized SHEQ qualification + Solid Knowledge of MS Office + Fluency in English (spoken and written)

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Strong Communication Skills, Leadership Skills, Planning and organization and Solid Knowledge of MS Office
