Position           : Sales and Communications Officer

Reporting Line : Managing Director with a matric to the Principal

Duties               :          

Among other duties the successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Develop and deliver creative and social media strategies, plans and approaches to help market and position TLAIS.
  • Ensure increase in TLAIS enrolment.
  • Plan the social media and communication strategies for specific areas of TLAIS’s work and for different audiences.
  • Conduct market research and collect data.
  • Promote marketing materials through appropriate social media channels including merchandise that will increase revenue.
  • Come up with the social media and communications budget and ensure programme milestones related to marketing are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to and strengthen fundraising proposals to meet the organizations strategic goals.
  • Ensure robust and creative communication and social media considerations are adopted and reports are done weekly and monthly to the MD on progress of the section.
  • Assist and take lead with the organization of school events, meetings and conferences as well as at external meetings and conferences.
  • Be the focal point for knowledge, advice on issue relating to communication and social media of such areas and the risks that come with ill management of it.
  • Oversee organizations email marketing campaigns for all departments and programs.
  • Oversee digital and social media strategy, including the evolving digital market and contribute new ideas to enhance the organization’s social presence.
  • Identify trends and leverage opportunities within the industry, through the use of social and digital tools and channels.
  • Leads assignments to support the strategic vision of TLAIS; develops recommendations of marketing activities to increase revenue.
  • Manage projects and campaigns including coordinating with vendors.
  • Facilitate the provision and addition or affixing of marketing materials in the School including sign posts and other visual materials.
  • Manage all internal department relationships as far communication and social media is concerned.
  • Ensure that all communication and social media material aligns with brand standards.
  • Maintain digital media archives including photos and videos.
  • Respond to media inquiries and perform media outreach to achieve brand placement in publications.
  • Develop polices for the different marketing risks as well as avenues.
  • Other duties as may be assigned to meet business needs.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Marketing/Communications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using digital communication channels, including social media, email marketing, and online advertising, to reach target audiences and drive sales leads.
  • Understanding of marketing principles and techniques to support sales efforts, including familiarity with market research, branding, advertising, and promotional strategies.
  • Capability to analyze sales and marketing data to evaluate performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize strategies.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions, customer preferences, and organizational priorities.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic sales and communication plans aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in sales, preferably in a relevant industry will be an added advantage.
