VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – SCHOOL HEADTEACHER

 

Mzuzu Pentecostal Christian School is a school located near Illa Crest Lodge at Mzuzu  Pentecostal Church. The school is looking for a dedicated Christian to take up the position of school Headteacher tenable at the school.

 

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Board the Headteacher is responsible for supervising all staff as well as coordinating between the school and relevant education stakeholders to ensure smooth running of the school.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Determining school education programs as set by the Ministry of Education.
2. Planning organizing and directing activities of the teachers at the school and coordinating teaching programs through meetings with staff including time tabling and allocation of teaching loads.
3. Directing or personally executing administrative and clerical activities
4. Establishing and maintaining relationships with government education establishment.
5. Maintaining standards of learners’ discipline, cleanliness and general behaviour in the school
6. Discussing progress and problems of individual learners with parents and teachers and recommending desirable action
7. Coordinating with the administrator on school requirements and budget for the smooth running of the school
8. Reviewing and examining teachers work so that curriculum and education systems are adhered to
9. Supervising and coordinating the implementation of changes in the curriculum at the school
10. Able to combine teaching and administration work
11. Checking daily teachers’ attendance
12. Ready to do any assignment given as the board may need

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

• A holder of primary school teaching certificate and should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience heading a school
• Should be a self-starter, effective team player and able to demonstrate verifiable results
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• High levels of integrity
