POST: Senior Education Methods Advisor (Grade H)

SALARY: Within the Grade H Salary Scale Segment
LOCATION: Education Division Offices
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should be serving Teachers/ Lecturers at Grade TI, with a minimum of four (4) years teaching experience at that grade, in the Government Teaching Service and holding a minimum of Bachelor of Education or a general degree with University Certificate of Education (UCE) from accredited institutions.Registration with the Teachers Council of Malawi will be an added advantage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidates shall be responsible to the Principal Education Methods Advisor and will carry out the following: โ
a. Investigating the effectiveness of established education practices and methods (through inspection and supervision);
b. Carrying out studies on current developments in teaching practices, methods and curricula;
c. Preparing reports and making recommendations to education authorities concerning introduction of improved methods and procedures and revision in curricula;
d. Examining teacher training methods and curricula and advising colleges during the introductions;
e. Organizing and directing in โ service training seminars and special re adoption courses for teachers;
f. Inspecting new private primary and secondary schools and Teacher Training College buildings and other facilities before establishment and registration and
g. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
