Overview

The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) is a statutory organization established in 1972 by an Act of Parliament (Cap 51:02) with a mandate to promote standardization of commodities and their manufacture, production, processing or treatment and to provide for the verification and calibration of weighing and measuring instruments: and further to provide for matter incidental to or connected with standardization.

The MBS is inviting applications from suitably qualified and interested persons to fill the following vacancies:

Job Title: Supplies Assistant
Location: Head Office
Grade: BS10
Reporting To: Supplies Supervisor
Number of Posts : 1 (One)

Job Purpose

To provide supplies and stocking services following stores standards

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Receiving goods on delivery from procurement unit;
  2. Verifying that goods delivered are in good order by matching with delivery note and specification details
    appearing on both requisition orders and invoices;
  3. Recording stocks;
  4. Updating bin cards and all record registers in use;
  5. Issuing of stocks to respective user Departments/ Sections/ Units;
  6. Reconciling stocks accounts;
  7. Maintaining a re-order point of stock items and preparing routine reports.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  1. Malawi School Certificate of Education, PLUS
  2. Certificate in Procurement and Supplies
