VACANCY: Tourism Receptionist
STATUS: One Year Contract โ Salaried
African Parks (AP) is a not-for-profit organization that secures a mandate to conserve through Public-Private Partnerships with Governments and communities for the rehabilitation and long-term management of protected areas in Africa, and here in Malawi, AP has secured this mandate for the management of Majete Wildlife Reserve, Liwonde National Park and Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve.
An opportunity has arisen for the post of Receptionist tenable at Majete Wildlife Reserve in Chikwawa.
The Receptionist will report to the Senior Customer Service-Reservation Officer and will be responsible in assisting the tourism team in Receptionist duties in the tourism department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
- Welcoming guests at Majete reception upon arrival both lodging and day visitorsโ
- Providing guests with information about Majete Wildlife Reserve
- Operate on tall order and res request.
- Take bookings and provide necessary correspondence.
- All Sales transactions relating to the sale of goods in Majete Curio shop
- Accepting payments in local and foreign currency and operating a payment terminal.
- Maintaining a positive attitude and friendly personality
- Responding to all guest questions and requests.
- Assistance in solving problems and complaints. Provide Professional and efficient service.
- Work long flexi tourism hours.
- Incumbent will need to provide for own transport and accommodation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must be a self-starter
- Excellent communication skills both written and spoken English
- Having proficient computers skills
- Dependability and team player
- Attention to details and passion for nature. Incumbent will be expected have a keen understanding of core conservation business.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
- Relevant Diploma
- A minimum of a yearsโ experience working in the conservation lodge industry.
